Recently it’s been getting colder all at once. I’ve been trying to declutter so as not to add more clothes, but I’ve become addicted to the color ivory, and I find myself with more clothes and more things in that color. I also bought a new thermos, and I’m raring to go to class and study.
While I am enjoying these pleasant days, I’m also facing the busiest time of the century.
It is because the winter term of the university has begun, and I have classes every weekday except Wednesday, and along with that, I have assignments for all my courses, and I need to go to bed early the day before for classes that start in the morning, etc. In a sense, I’m leading a very full life.
In the midst of all this, God has provided me with friends to support, encourage, and be with me. For example, last month I was able to have a time of fellowship with a friend with whom I will be doing part of my internship by working on a returnee workbook. We met at the train station and hugged before I could say, “Nice to meet you,” and we became instant friends, as if we’d been friends for a long time.
I was able to accept this hug without any confusion because I’d lived in a different culture myself. From there, we were able to share stories about college, love at our age, and the future, all while feeling God’s presence with us in our skin.
I was paired up with a younger student at school with whom I have dinner with once a week and we share what’s going on, concerns, and prayer requests. I began to want to be a part of this younger student’s growth in faith and to grow together with them, and now we continue to read and share the scriptures sent to us daily from YouVersion App.
I’m so thankful that God is always there to support, encourage, and watch over me no matter how busy or struggle. I live my life with the feeling that I’m living in the moment.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.」
Matthew 7:7 ESV
