Hi everyone!
This time, it’s Daisuke from Atlanta writing.
Lately, we’ve been having these “yellow winds” blowing through here.
Yep… the wind literally turns yellow from pollen.
(;゚д゚)…(;゚д゚)…(;゚д゚)…
Turn on the windshield wipers and—boom—pollen everywhere!!
It’s a rough season if you have allergies. Hope it settles down soon.

Spring is here!
Sa-ku-ra♪ Sa-ku-ra♪
…that’s about as far as I can sing ^^;
Anyway, the other day—
on a quick half-day whirlwind visit—
Secchan (Shimizu from JCFN) dropped into Atlanta!
She had a layover on a business trip and spent about half a day here.
But guess what…
the airport was in total chaos at the time. It was even all over the news in the U.S.—
security lines were so long they stretched outside the terminal building.
At that moment, domestic flights out of Atlanta had
wait times of up to SIX hours. Complete madness.
And yet, despite all that,
Secchan showed up with the biggest, brightest smile.

On the way to the house,
she kept reacting to one thing over and over:
“The cherry blossoms are AMAZING 🌸!!”
Apparently, there aren’t many in California.
But here in Georgia, we’ve got tons of cherry blossom trees.
Honestly, I might see them more often here
than I did when I was living in Japan…
Seeing her get so excited, snapping photos and enjoying the moment,
just made me feel warm and happy too.
I’m really glad she could find joy
in our everyday neighborhood scenery—nothing fancy, just ordinary streets.
The kids joined in too, sticking close to Secchan for a few snapshots!
It was a short visit, but such a fun and heartwarming time.

Anyway, I say this every time, but…
maybe next time I’ll finally write about ramen 👍
