Hi I’m Hiromu Tsuchida. I’ve been serving in Atlanta with my husband! I’m writing this time.
For quite a long time, I have wanted to be able to make good handmade bread well.
After moving to the U.S., that desire grew even stronger!!
I have never successfully “raised” the dough … NEVER.
Even so, I thought it would be nice to make delicious bread at home, so I started looking for an affordable home bakery machine.
About two years after I started looking, someone returning to Japan said, ‘I’m selling this,’ and I finally got one at a super low price!
It raises the dough in the machine, which I’m not good at… so, I was really looking forward to it, and then,
Huh??
I need to raise the dough for a second time?!! Do I do that myself?
I had a bad feeling but tried anyway, and as expected, it was a failure…
No matter how many times I try, I can’t get the dough raised right… It seems the dough doesn’t rise well unless various conditions are met, and unless someone tells me what I’m doing wrong, improvement is difficult…
Now, bread appears a lot in the Bible too, and some things are meant to be raised, while others are not, symbolizing various things (^_^)
When I got curious and did a bit of research, I found that “Bethlehem”, where Jesus was born, actually means “House of Bread” in Hebrew!!
I don’t know if bread was famous there, but the fact that Jesus, who grew up there, referred to Himself as the ‘Bread of Life’ also seems to suggest that salvation is close at hand (^_^)
I may not be able to make delicious bread yet, but I can introduce the ‘Bread of Life’ to many people (^_^)
I will continue to pray that many Japanese people will be able to receive that bread of life…
